Obviously somebody doesn't know that the Universal DVD programmers have used the UOP (User Operation Prohibition) and most DVD players have all control locked out. > > We hope you will continue to enjoy Universal releases. > Yeah right! -- NightStalker NightStalker |

As has already been posted, that doesn't work on all players. Yep
Apparently, they even have this on the new "American Wedding" DVD. Right before the trailers "To skip trailers, press fast forward" When I was told this, I felt like it was a complete Slap in the face. I couldn't believe it. In other words "We're not going to bother unlocking your remote, we're not going to allow you to have an option to jump straight to the main menu, we're going to make you work for it. You're going to have to sit through the trailers one way or another, and if it's flying by at 1000nth the speed, so be it. We'll take what we can get" SCREW THEM Again.. the website for the petition against forced ads http://www.petitiononline.com/ForceAds/petition.html Please sign and pass it along This is getting ridiculous Stan Brown wrote: > In article <27648-3FDC6DE4-184@storefull- > 2277.public.lawson.webtv.net> in alt.video.dvd, Invalid Address > wrote: > >>From: universalstudios& >>Subject: RE: Bruce Almighty-upset about forced trailers >> >>Thank you for contacting us. I think the only thing left to do is stop buying Universal releases, and wow will we miss out, huh? (Yes, it's DRIPPING with the ol' sarcasm... can you tell?) But I am not going to support a company which tries to sweep me under the rug THAT quickly. There wasn't even a bit of grace period there before they told us to **** off. Nope, just RIGHT OUT with the ignoring form letter statement. Two can play that game. **** OFF, UNIVERSAL. << Please sign and pass it along This is getting ridiculous >> Agreed. Wade365 |
