Default New feature on the M*A*S*H 5th season dvd!

They finally put a "play all" option in the 5th season.

That's great, it's about time.

Like to play all the episodes on a particular disc at once without having to go
back to the menu? I wish I had the time to watch eight episodes at one
sitting!

Do you ever watch a movie in one sitting? Eight episodes of a sitcom run no
longer than one typical movie. Would you like to have to interrupt that
movie seven times to navigate through several menu options just to continue
the movie? That's why people complain about the lack of "Play All" on TV
season discs.

I would like to see them take advantage of the "angle" feature in DVD's so
you could watch MASH without Alan Alada.

Well yeah but a movie is a complete thing and one episode of a television show
is a complete item. When I buy a MASH season I try to stretch it as far as I
can because they only come out once every five months. But like I said, it
would be fun to watch them all at one sitting. But then I would have to wait
so long for the next season.

Umm, even if you don't watch them all in one sitting, you could hit stop,
turn off the DVD player, then come back later and just hit play.

From the MASH DVDs I rented, it was tedious navigating around the various
episodes.. (and there wasn't extra material IIRC.. The Buffy DVDs as a
counterexample were tedious but some _did_ have bonus material.)

yeah, like the 4 part story of "I Dream Of Jeannie" that I have.

the same one story took up four whole separate episodes.

or other multi-part episodes of shows I have.

or like the Happy Days episode that was "To Be Continued on Laverne & Shirley".
and when watching part 2 on Laverne & Shirley was "to be continued on Happy
Days".

I wonder how the dvd episodes of those will be released, with the original to
be continued titles intact or the syndicated rerun version without them?

part 1: Happy Days, part 2: Lavernwee & Shirley, part 3: Happy Days (the
conclusion of the very same story).

And Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley did that more than once.

The Six Million Dollar Man episodes that were "To Be Continued on The Bionic
Woman" and vice versa.

Magnum P.I. episodes to be continued on Murder She Wrote or something like
that.

BJ & the Bear to be continued on "Sheriff Lobo" (probably short for
lobotomy)

by the way, one of the Happy Days included in the syndicated reruns of Happy
Days was not a "Happy Days" episode. It was a "Joannie Loves Chachi" episode.

And no, I'm not talking about the Happy Days episode that was a pilot for tthe
Joanie Loves Chachi tv series.

I'm talking about a later episode of Joanie Loves Chachi that had some of the
"Happy Days charachters on it, so after the Joanie Loves Chachi series failed,
they tacked that episode onto the syndicated reruns of Happy Days using the
Happy Days opening and closing themes instead of the original Joanie Loves
Chachi theme.

similar to the way "Three's Company" tacked on a new "Three's Company, Too"
opening and closing theme to the syndicated reruns of "Three's Company" instead
of using the original "Three's A Crowd" opening and closing themes.

that was slightly different from what Happy Days did, but similar.
