Even though they must be swamped as a result of their epochal sale (20%
off what were already the lowest prices around), they've shipped out my order a week after it was placed - and the same day one of the items it was released. Their customer support staff has always gone out of their way to be helpful. No, they're not the fastest (everyone agrees on that), but great prices and customer service does it for me. robert gray |

Order 12/02
Shipped 12/08 Rec'd 12/12 (free Shipping) Waiting on 2 other coupon orders that were placed on the 5th... Not bad delivery or Customer Service especially how swamped they were. Never had a problem with DDD. With patience ( a week or two) you can save money (DVD Price, no taxes and free shipping). I haven't seen any "good" new releases that are warrant buying from DDD instead of the local retailer, though. As many have stated here, they are not ALWAYS the cheapest; but I usually check their site first when I do my price/cost comparison. I'm never in a hurry so I like the free shipping. They do however, do a couple of things that irk me. On several occassions I've checked thier prices on box sets one week and then check back a week or two later to find that they've bumped up the price by $20 or more (a recent example being the latest James Bond box sets). Sometimes, when I order say 5 DVDs at one time with all being available within a weeks time I wish they would just hold the entire order and ship all 5 items in one package instead of sending out 5 packages with a single DVD over a period of 5 consectutive days (you'd think they would want to consolidate an order under those circumstances to cut back on their expenses). I guess the only other negative thing I can think of is that they occasionally just don't carry certain DVDs, like the Due South TV series, so you have to buy elsewhere. I guess that falls under limited stock. srt SRT |

I tried to do the 20 per cent off thing, but ended up placing the order before I could figure out how to get the discount, and according to DDD, there is *no* way to cancel or correct an order once it has been placed because "it goes straight to the warehouse" where I presume the DVD elves are busy packaging orders at two in the morning. I retraced my steps and found the tiny box where you're supposed to put the code at the START of the order process (rather than at the end, like most places), and e-mailed DDD immediately after the order went through, to ask if I could either replace the order or simply apply the coupon. About a week later I got an e-mail saying it was too late, my order had been sent. I'm not too bent out of shape about all this, next time I'll know where to look, and I suppose I can't expect customer service to know all the time what's going on in shipping or vice versa, but it seems a little sneaky not to have some process by which you can correct an order especially if you inquire about it right away. swac Stephen Cooke |

You should have been able to cancel the order if it had not already shipped by
calling their toll free number. I have done this on a couple of occasions. I was told that I had to cancel and reorder to take advantage of a new lower price. They would (could not) not change the original order. Like I said, this was rather late at night, like 1 a.m. or thereabouts, so I wouldn't have got a live person, likely. I would have cancelled the order and re-placed it, but according to DDD, once an order is placed via the website, it goes straight to the warehouse, where the 24-hour warehouse elves begin shipping it immediately. swac (Yes, I'm being facetious.) Not sure if the toll free number works in Canada. For future reference you might
want to contact them via email and ask if they have a toll free number you can call. Their telephone staff is top notch and worth contacting if you have a problem, even if it isn't toll free.
