I have recorded a film from the TV onto DVD+RW but it has adverts. Can I
copy this to my hard drive and edit out the ad's then put it back (I have a burner on the PC) onto the DVD? And if so, what program would I need to do the edit? Any help appreciated! Steve C Steve C |

Steve C >>

I can’t help you with your specific question but it demonstrates the advantages of getting a Desk Top DVD recorder with a hard drive built in. No problem to eliminate the advertisements there. It is simple. FredBillie |

It's possible but not easy: first you have to extract the VOB files from
your DVD and covert them as MPG then AVI files on your hard drive. Then edit and re-encode them to DVD format to, finally, burn them on a DVD disk. As you have recorded onto a DVD+RW disk in the first place, you can re-used it :-> "Steve C" <> a écrit dans le message news: brd25s$44c$... > I have recorded a film from the TV onto DVD+RW but it has adverts. Finalize all of these edits when you are done, And the commercials are gone. Alternatively you need a desktop video editing program on your PC that will accept the VOB files as source. If not, some will accept those files after they are "glued" back together (they are cut into 1-GB chunks), and renamed to .MPG extension. You do this with the copy command in a command window (make sure you have an NTFS formatted hard drive to accept the file if it is >4 GB). copy [dvd]:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1.VOB + [dvd]:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_n.VOB + ... + [dvd]:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_n.VOB /b [hardisk]:\target.mpg SB Spam Buster |

Thanks to all for your replies! I did what you said Spam Buster (Read about
chapter markers and in the manual) tried it and it works a treat. Also tried using a program called TMPGEnc DVD Author which seems to work great for doing the video edits but at first attempt the sound track went out of sync. Perhaps I need more practice. Also heard about a program called Womble Multimedia Mpeg2Vcr 3. Trying to get a copy using Kazaa Lite but no-one seems to have it. Once again thanks for your feedback.
