Watch a few episodes on SciFi Channel... it helped make my mind up. Not gonna say which way, cuz I'll get jumped. Wade365 |

The extras aren't that great. There's a retrospective kind of thing which isn't that long but is nice. I've stopped watching the deleted scenes as the ones I watched were so similar to the ones in the show it was boring. If you enjoyed the show & can't get it any other way then you should enjoy the main set. (I am happy as I grew up anticipating each new show) Don't expect stellar picture quality though, it's extremely grainy in places, as bad as any video tape. Not all the way through just the ocassional really bad scenes. > > Thanks for any information, and I really wish they'd designed a box > without that clunky Cylon head on it! > > Sarah B. Not for me, it's the one of the best parts! I keep that box separate. There's a folder style box holding the set that you can store with your other DVD's so it's not a problem.(it's DAMN hard to get the discs out though!) Paul C. |

I really liked the show, so I thought it was worth the price. The extras are decent enough - deleted scenes on almost every episode. Commentary by Apollo, Starbuck, Boomer on the pilot episode, and a disk of featurettes. Not bad at all. the show holds up surprisingly well, too. JWB |

Hi all,
I noticed that there's a boxed set of the complete 'Battlestar: Galactica' TV series available, and since I have fond memories of the show from when I was younger (OK, I was hopelessly in love with Starbuck!), I'm thinking of maybe asking for it for a Christmas present. Can anyone tell me, how are the extras? I see there are deleted scenes and stuff like that - anything good, or just the random shot that doesn't make a difference? Thanks for any information, and I really wish they'd designed a box without that clunky Cylon head on it! Sarah B. Sarah Bartholomew |

OPINION ALERT. I watched "Living Legend" on SciFi the other afternoon and I couldn't disagree more strongly (and this is an ep touted as a fan-fav)... I found myself counting the stock footage repeats of Raiders and Vipers, and the sets are inanely decorated (this coming from an original series Star Trek & Doctor Who fan to this day, so I have imagination and I'm not affraid to use it). The only bright spot was seeing Sheba again (Bridge's daughter on the ep). Still a damned sexy woman. Here comes Dec. 9th, kids... time to see how SciFi rapes our memory banks. Wade365 |

If you're under 30, I suppose. What's next? Buck Rogers? Is Gil Gerard around to interview the new female Buck Rogers in a Starbuck's (like Half-Wit Benedict did with the new SB)? To blazes with SciFi's creation, "cool" or not... it didn't need doin'. Wade365 |

The effects were never the important part of the series. I think even as a kid I recognized how lame some of them were and how Istrange it was that many of them were so familiar...as if I had seen them somewhere before... > The only bright spot was seeing Sheba again (Bridge's daughter on the ep). > Still a damned sexy woman. Yup. > Here comes Dec. 9th, kids... time to see how SciFi rapes our memory banks. I think they already did that with Dune. Smaug69 Smaug69 |

There is over 3 hours of deleted scenes and many of them actually show a different direction that could have been taken with certain characters and storylines. > Thanks for any information, and I really wish they'd designed a box > without that clunky Cylon head on it! That's not the actual packaging of the DVD set. The Cylon mask box is just the outer packaging. The discs are actually housed in a digipak in which most season box sets are packaged. I put my Cylon box up on a bookshelf for display and the DVD box set in its place with the other DVDs. Here's a review of the set with all the features listed and a picture of the clyon box and the digipak: http://www.thedigitalbits.com/review...tarseries.html Smaug69 Smaug69 |
