Default For Pete Briggs - AVP

Pete,

Forgive me if this has been discussed in depth already, but I saw a
teaser for 'Aliens v Predator' when I went to see 'Alien - DC' last
night. Am I right in thinking that you famously scripted an idea for
this a few years back? If so, is the new movie linked to you at all,
or are they totally going it alone? Can't say I'm thrilled at the
choice of director...

Steve

Hi, Steve. Long time, no hear! Good to see you around! (Still have to
see the new CG saucer in "Dalek Invasion", BTW!)

Yep, that was me.

I just read the actual shooting script the other day. There are still
things in there that resemble elements from my draft, but I'm sorry to
say Mr Anderson has gone one way with it.

Fox's paychecks go a large way to assuaging my sense of depression about
this project.

I hope you like it! It seems to have been very well received on the
whole. I think you'll like the 'War of the Worlds' style heatray...

LOL! Yes, I bet they do. Presumably you will be credited as one of the
writers?

Did Fox ever have any scripts for an AVP project before they picked
yours up? I keep hearing rumours about a script from the late
80s(before the Dark Horse miniseries), but I can't find any solid info
on it anywhere.

That'll be down to the automatic WGA arbitration next year. For legal
reasons, I can't comment further. Sorry!

Nope.

I was the first. Trust me on this -- it's been a lot of
behind-the-scenes at Fox Legal.

I've been having a lot of amusement at the shooting draft. I wish I
could give instances, but....you'd think Mr Anderson (oooh....I feel a
patiche coming on!) would have paid a little more attention in places --
