There is at least one flaw in the above. DEAD END was a United Artists release, and the rights to it are not owned by Warner. Perhaps ANGELS W/ DF could be paired up with its not-really-a-sequel-though-the-title-makes-it-look-like-one ANGELS WASH THEIR FACES. -- jayembee jayembee |

Warner's also did "The Rise and Fall of Legs Diamond" (1960)
and it starred Ray Danton On Thu, 30 Oct 2003 19:05:21 -0800, DarkMatter <> wrote: >On Fri, 31 Oct 2003 02:19:02 GMT, Joseph Vitale <> Gave >us: > >>"The Warner Gangster Collection" (6 Disc set) > > > Who did the story of "Legs Diamond"? > > Real early.. late forties early fifties maybe... I agree wholeheartedly with this list, but let's not forget "I am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang" about a gross miscarriage of justice with our hero, Paul Muni being incarcerated for a crime he didn't commit, and then joining a gang of gangsters (Heh) in escaping. This is one of the most riveting films I've seen and I prize my laserdisc of it. Incidently, all of the above films except "Petrified Forest" were issued on Laser. "Dead End" has been issued three times on DVD, the Image version being quite good quality. But indeed it's not a Warner film. I think that these films will indeed appear on DVD soon enough, with Public Enemy" and Little Caesar" actually being discussed in the rumour mills. "High Sierra" has already appeared. . PETRIFIED FOREST was released on laserdisc - it was one of the four films included in the MGM/UA box set "The Bogart Collection" (ML102663). Dave Dave Garrett |

Yep yep, that's right. Sorry, it didn't come up in my database. So ALL the classic Gangster films with Bogey and Cagney have been on Laser? "I am a Fugitve form a Chain Gang" was released to laser in 1997, but didn't make it to DVD. . Steve . > >Dave Steve(JazzHunter) |

Mr. Vitale, before Warners does their homework, why don't you do yours?
The Desperate Hours was a) not Warner Brothers, and b) is already out on DVD via the studio that made the film, Paramount. Brockhurst Pertwee |
