Lots more. http://www.kimbawlion.com/rant2.htm

Although I consider the "Hamlet" connection to be a red herring. Seems
like it was brought forward after people started making a fuss over the
Jungle Emperor/Kimba connection.

The opening sequence of The Lion King _is_ very impressive, and it's
probably the most literal steal from Jungle Emperor: the two minute
sequence that opened the show every week. Although the TV show's opening
was not part of the US version of Kimba The White Lion, Japanese
laserdiscs of the complete series were present at DisneyCo when LK was
being made. This RealVideo file doesn't do it justice

You'd have to get one of the Japanese DVDs to see it properly,
like,

or
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=3358729582

The "new" song breaks the flow of the movie and the animation changes
just looked "wrong". Disney just had to screw with it... it's their
genetic imperative.

The male anatomy on The Little Mermaid cover isn't so hard to miss...

Thankfully, it can be disabled. I never intend to watch the movie
with the new song intact again.

A good "live" dvd of the stage show, where the new song comes from
iirc, would be nice though.

My wife and I are 38, with no kids. We regularly see animated movies,
both the family oriented Disney, Pixar, PDI, Dreamworks variety, as well
as more adult themed Japanese animation.

Since when is animation only for kids? Have you seen the Simpsons,
Family Guy, Futurama, and South Park?

I thought the live show was overrated. The whole time I kept wishing
that I was watching the animated movie instead, which was far more
entertaining. Yeah, the puppet costumes were cool, for about 15 minutes.
Then the novelty wore off. The live stage show in no way captures the
frenetic energy of the animation, which is one of the things that made
the movie so entertaining.

I say that having seen the Los Angeles production. Perhaps the original
Broadway production was better.

To me, the whole thing reeked up forced "synergy", not unlike the lame
Disneyland parades based on every new movie that comes out.

Finding Nero was aimed at kids but is a good laugh, and the humour is fairy
adult.

Disney edited a movie!?!? Surely you jest, sir! Geez, I guess next
you'll tell me that George Lucas has changed one of his films.
