Default Best TV Show No One Is Watching.......

The Shield.

IMHO, it beats out CSI, Six Feet Under and 24 (not to say these aren't
quality shows, they are).

As far as I know, early January - same as last year.

What do you mean "No One Is Watching"? It's one of the highest-rated
basic cable series ever.

Yes, it does. But one show -- which is more accurately described as
the "Best TV Show No One Is Watching" -- that beats it hands down is
HBO's THE WIRE.

Sometime in January. No specific date has been announced, though.

This question would be more appropriate for rec.arts.tv, unless you
specifically mean TV series where no one is watching the DVDs..

That was an odd comment, but given who wrote it....

I hope KAREN SISKO starts doing better in the ratings. I'm loving it so
far, but I fear ABC will pull the plug prematurely like they do with so
many other shows.

It doesn't seem to me that it's doing that badly. It seems to be
holding steady at around 6.5, from what I can see. It's not doing
better than L&O, but I don't think any rational person would expect it
to (but then "rational person" rather leaves out network execs,
doesn't it?). I don't think there's any question that ABC will run all
of the initial 13-order, and I think there's a fairly good chance
they'll order the back nine. It's not like they have a whole lot of
things to air in its place at the moment. There are only so many
Michael Jackson specials they can dig out of the vaults, after all.

Yes, remember that the show airs on the Already Been Cancelled network.
Having decent ratings is meaningless, unless your show is a complete
piece of **** sitcom that everyone in the world who has ever watched it
despises, in which case they'll keep it around for years and years and
years.

The problem with hour-long dramas is that they are expensive to produce,
and unless they do spectactularly well in the ratings they are harder to
justify than, say, reality shows, which are exceedingly cheap and can be
churned out quickly.

No-one's watching "The Shield"? I'm surprised. I thought it was a big
hit? (Although I don't care for it.)

The only show of this list I watch is "CSI" (and "Miami). "Six Feet
Under" I find dull and trying too hard to be "hip", and "24" is just
inane pablum.
