Well, I didn't know it was crap at the time. I have had it since
college, it was a good cheap tv/vcr combo, and I didn't have a DVD
player at the time.

I have a RF Modulator. That is the only way that I can connect the
dvd player to the TV. My origional post stated this. There are A/V
inputs, but they disconnect the RF input, even if there is no data
coming in on the A/V line. I have a RF modulator between the DVD
player and the TV/VCR combo. The problem is that the TV designers ran
the coax input through the VCR before getting it to the TV. So even
with the RF modulator, I still have the Macrovison artifacts on
screen.

Do you have one of these? Can you verify that it works well?

THAT is NOT the reason it passes on through.

I have one and it works as advertised. Bought it from SIMA directly
and it arrived with a faulty capacitor in the power supply which was
promptly fixed under warranty. It has S-Video and composite
input/output. Also has many adjustments for tweaking the picture if
necessary. Recommended.

I have one too and it works like a champ.

It's pathetic that I'm going to have to buy another for the bedroom TV.
It'll cost more than the DVD player, but it's cheaper than replacing the TV.

Geez, what a cheapskate. Otherwise, maybe you're just poor. Maybe you should look into boosting that income.
