I have just upgraded from crappy 20 dollar 2 speaker with onboard sound to
an ok set of Logitech z560(decided to save some cash and not go for the 680's) speakers and a Soundblaster Audigy X-Gamer sound card. Now I wanna buy about 5-6 dvds with EXCEPTIONAL sound to make my speakers work their ass off! I already got matrix reloaded and the star wars movies on my list, can you suggest any others? Thnx for your time EE Roth |

Well, if you don't have a rear centre speaker, what does it matter? -- - Cods (un ROT-13 to e-mail) Codswallop |

There are no 7.1 DVDs. > > Star Wars Episode 1's pod race is pretty good for showing off a system; > > that's about it... > > Except it's rear center is matrixed instead of discrete, > so why bother? The net result of a matrix center channel and a discrete center channel is audibly the same. Joshua Zyber |

Two fronts, two surrounds, two centers (one front and one rear) and one sub-woofer - 2, 4, 6, 7... ....and LOTR extended edition lights up all the signal indicators on my Yamaha RX-Z1, matrixed rear center for DD and discrete rear center fort DTS... .... I know the new math is hard when going from 5 to 10and all, but it's okay you'll get there. > The net result of a matrix center channel and a discrete center channel > is audibly the same Well yeah, if your gear is crap and you don't have outs for a rear center. Subwooofers are the .1 as they are not full-range speakers/channels. To my knowledge, there are not currently any DVDs with 7.1 channels. Even then, aren't some of the channels in 7.1 matrixed channels? -- - Cods (un ROT-13 to e-mail) Codswallop |
