I'm glad that Series 1 of "Allo Allo" is finally hitting the R1 market in
January, but doesn't a list price of $34.98 seem a bit pricey for what should
be just eight half-hour episodes?

I think I might just stick to the R2 box of Series 1 & 2 for the meantime.
(And it's been more than a year since this R2 release.....where's more?!?)

Not really, if they don't think it's going to sell well and thus have
to break even with a higher retail price.
