Default Region 2 PAL DVD's ???

I want to get two Region 2 (PAL) DVD's from Amazon.com/uk. These DVD's are
not available in the USA (Ghostwatch and The Stone Tape). Is it possible to
rip them to my hard drive and reburn them so I will be able to watch them on
a US-NTSC television? What I have in mind is to rip the DVD with a DVD
ripping program to my hard drive and them burn them to DVD-R. I know its
possible to remove region coding but how about the PAL television standard?

You will need to use something like TMPGEnc to convert.

Why not invest in an "cheap" region free dvd player like the
Cyberhome which I purchased for $70 which would allow
you to play any disc on your ntsc tv

Not only that but get a DVD player that handles PAL. My Apex 600 and
660 both handle PAL no problems.
