Possible to get replacements for lost discs?

Has anyone ever tried to purchase a replacement disc (from a boxed collection)
for a disc that you have lost or damaged?

In other words, I need a replacement for "24 - Season 1: Disc 1," which has
been lost. I've emailed the Fox DVD website, but not confident I'll get a
reply (or, at least, the one I want to hear).

Is there some other source to get legitimate replacement discs, rather than
spending $40 on another full set?

You do know that online retailers have return policies, right? If you
get an incomplete DVD set, you can mail it back and exchange it
for another copy.
