need example of left-hand stationary div

I'm looking for an example of a left-hand column containing a stationary
div. Specifically, I want the div to remain in the same position when
scrolling the page vertically. The effect is like that of using frames. I've
seen examples of this before, but can't remember where.

Found it myself--disregard.

The secret is absolute positioning.
