I've established a functional home wireless network including a desktop and
notebook, both running XP, and I'm attempting to share files between the two. On my desktop, both the shared files on the desktop and on the notebook appear when I open My Network Places, suggesting that file sharing is functional on the laptop. However, when I open My Network Places on the laptop, none of these files appear. When I try to View Workgroup computers on the laptop, I receive a message that my workgroup is not accessible and that I might not have permission to use this network resource. The network path is not found. It also says that I need to contact a system administrator, but neither computer has established system administrator users. There are no additional firewalls on the notebook that I'm aware of, and as I said the shared files on the notebook can be accessed on the desktop. Any thoughts? =?Utf-8?B?cmJlY2s=?= |

I appreciate your help. Turns out when I rechecked the McAfee firewall on
the desktop, it was still on. I turned it off and now everything is functional.
