Configuration:
Cable modem / Linksys 4-port switch(BEFSR41) 2 computers connected directly to switch Belkin WAP (G) also connected to switch Belkin G PCI card in computer upstairs. There is another PC right next to it connected with a cross over cable using Internet Connection sharing on the PC with the wireless PCI card. Problem: The second PC upstairs has internet access, but I cannot access shared files on the PC's downstairs. Is there any way to pass DNS and file sharing (and printers) to that second PC? morrissc |

Hi
By using ICS you add a second NAT and thus the sharing problems. If you use WinXP try Bridging as an alternative. Jack (MVP-Networking). Thanks for the reply.
I do use Windows XP. I have tried bridging, but it does not seem to work correctly bridging the wireless to wired. It treats it as bridged from wired to wireless instead and since the wired is connected via crossover to the other PC, that doesn't do anything. morrissc |

Have you considered obtaining a wireless adapter for the second PC upstairs?
This should resolve these issues. -- All the best, Ryan Younger. http://spaces.msn.com/members/wirelessnetworking/ - Ryan's Wireless Networking Weblog "morrissc" <> wrote in message news: oups.com... > Configuration: > Cable modem / Linksys 4-port switch(BEFSR41) > 2 computers connected directly to switch > > Belkin WAP (G) also connected to switch > > Belkin G PCI card in computer upstairs.
