I have set up my home network with my desktop and laptop. For the laptop to
be connected I first have to start the Wireless Zero Configuration to have a Wireless Networking tab in Network Connections. Then I have to go into Network connections, click on the Networking tab and select "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings". Once I've done this I am connected for the moment, but when I go away from the computer for awhile or shut it off I have to do this all again. Can someone help me please? =?Utf-8?B?QW5naWU=?= |

Is the Wireless Zero Configuration service set to automatic?
Is your system fully patched (XP SP2 + latest hotfixes)? -- All the best, Ryan Younger. http://spaces.msn.com/members/wirelessnetworking/ - Ryan's Wireless Networking Weblog "Angie" <> wrote in message news:7838CD60-9C2D-442D-AC5F-... >I have set up my home network with my desktop and laptop. Hi, Angie -
You might want to take a look at: http://www.itcsg.com/tech/Tech.shtml and read through the articles on building Ad-Hoc and Small-Office/Home-Office wireless networks. Hope this helps, - WLW "Angie" <> wrote in message news:7838CD60-9C2D-442D-AC5F-... >I have set up my home network with my desktop and laptop. Yes, the Wireless Zero Configuration is set to automatic. The laptop is new
and it came with XP SP2, but I'm not sure about the hotfixes. Hi
Might be that WZC runs in parallel to the original manufacturer utility; make sure that WCZ is set o Auto and the original Brand Utility id not Running as well. Jack (MVP-Networking).
