Any good make of NiMH AA batteries, preferably 2000mAh or greater.

Uniross have a 1-2 hour 'Sprint' charger which comes with four 2300 mAh AA
batteries, works on 110-240 volt mains and also has a car charger lead for
12V. 7dayshop are selling this for £27.95

It is possible to get chargers that run off of DC power, with
"travel kits" to make use of different plugs/voltages.

Exactly. I was thinking the Maha MH-C401FS (which I have)
with the "International Lightweight Travel Power Adapter"
(which I don't have).

However - I now realize that it doesn't come with the
plug adapters. It does have autosensing voltage though.
