There was a Beach Photo in Daytona Beach, Florida that eventually changed
it's name to get out from under the reputation of Beach.

I can't even get 36 exposure rolls of film in any of the local camera
shops -- most of which are one hour processors with a display case full of
P&S cameras.

The type of shop you describe doesn't count . Those are not camera
shoops in the sense I was referring to . Guess I'm spoiled by having
a few shops like I referred to nearby. It's one thing to know what
you want and to order it online from a place like B&H or Adorama but I
like to go into Cameta Camera where I can "touch and feel" the camera
as well as get some advice from a great salesman named Kurt who is as
honest as they come. If he feels that my needs will be met by a
different camera then he would suggest another model without any
hassle or pressure.

Cameta also sells items on ebay. I bought a camera from them there. I had
to call them to confirm the auction, and pay. They did attempt to sell some
other items, such as Compact Flash, etc., but it was low pressure, and they
were fine when I said "No". I would buy from them again.

We used two stores like that here in Sarasota but along came a Wolf and bought
them out.
Now we have only stores named Ritz-Wolf and except for an occasion roll of
slides I have developed I don't even walk in.

Even the one camera store that could be called a camera store around here
does not have 36 exposure rolls, and they don't carry any of the fancier
emulsions I like. I believe a 24 exposure roll of Provia F100 is about twice
the mail order price.

I've recommended him to anyone I know who is looking to buy equipment.
The store itslef is enjoying th fruits of their being an honest
business with top-notch service and competitive pricing - they are
bursting with business. The eBay auction sales they do are
phenominal.

Never heard of them. And looking at their web site I see they are out on
Long Island, not in Brooklyn.
