A friend of mine bought a SLR digital camera (Canon Rebel) and we shot some
pics of the same subjects and compared (I have a Fuji 6800z 3mp). Aside from
the fact that the 6mp resolution resolved fine detail that was a blurr on my
camera, he could shoot at 800 and have the same noise in shadow areas that I
had at ISO 100! Also, blooming was much less of an issue in very bight
areas.

There is not much manual control on my camera. It makes a digital SLR more
tempting. I'm considering the *istD, but the price is high. One of these
days...
