Smart Media Problem

I recently bought a 64Mb smart media card for my digital camera.
After taking a load of photographs my San Disk reader would not read
anything and locked the computer up.
My old smart media card 32Md still works perfectly in this reader.
Is it a faulty card and has anybody got any ideas please?

Trying using the camera to reformat the card, then run another test.

I don't use a reader, but is it possible that it won't recognise the 128
rather as some cameras won't without a firmware upgrade?

That may be true for an old reader. My Lexar would only read up to 64 Mb
when I got it, but I downloaded an updated driver, and it reads 128 Mb smart
media.

I'm confused. In your original post, you referred to a 64MB card, not
128.

Regardless, your camera manual should tell you the maximum supported
card size.

Can you try sending the images from the camera to the computer via a
parallel or USB cable?

Oops, my (and your) error. Original post wasn't mine, but I got this
thread mixed up with a thread re 128mb cards... either way, is it still
a possibility if his reader is an old one?

I made a slight mistake in reading his post, it's a 64 mb not 128... is
it still a possibility?
