Posts: n/a
in my code i wan' to use the alias
library IEEE;
use IEEE.std_logic_textio.ALL;
use STD.textio.all;

alias swrite is write [line, string, side, width] ;
swrite(my_line, "divs=");

ERROR:HDLParsers:3246 - "D:/projekte/lemos/divide/testdiv.vhd" Line 46.

Looks good to me.

Oh dear. Like the message says - your tool doesn't support it.

Easy workaround:

procedure swrite (
L : inout line;
S: string;
J: side := left;
W: width := 0
) is begin
write(L, S, J, W);

Definitely better than...
write (L, string'("divs=") );
