User-defined global library in ModelSim 6.0?

How can I create a user-defined global library like the ieee libraries
in ModelSim 6.0?

I've created my package file and a library in the root directory, but I
have to manually add the library each time I change directories. Is
there anyway to have it accessible by all other projects and
directories?

Thanks.

Have you tried updating modelsim.ini in the $modelsim directory?
