Your questions have been correctly answered, so I'll just add a note.
I have a 20 gig Xdrive II I bought a month or so ago. I just got back
from an Alaska vacation. I took 986 pics with my 5 megapixel camera,
amounting to around 3 gigabytes total. I downloaded each day's
shooting into the Xdrive at the end of the day. The process went
sufficiently fast.

I just downloaded all the pics into my computer for organizing, etc,
and the download from Xdrive via USB2 went very fast.

In short, I am very happy with my purchase. The only problem is the
Xdrive does not have a screen to view the pictures on it to confirm
their presence. But the feedback regarding completed transfer from
card to Xdrive seems completely reliable.
