Default Asterisk in use at universities?

Does anyone know of a university which uses Asterisk (or Vocal) to
offer an internal telephone extension (via SIP) to all its faculty and
students?

It seems like a sensible idea, particularly in Western Europe where
the calling-party-pays principle has contributed to high fixed-mobile
call charges.

I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has implemented such a
service and, in particular, about the problems associated with it,
e.g. getting buy-in, problems associated with sharing cable/ADSL
connections etc.

Rahim.
