Hi,
I'm looking to buy a 19" CRT monitor which can support several high
resolutions, including 1280X1024, 1600X1200 and 1920X1440. I found a really
good value monitor on Ebuyer

which seems to fit the job, as it supports a maximum resolution of 2048 x
1536. However, under supported resolutions, only 1024 x 768, 1280 x 1024,
1600 x 1200, 640 x 480 and 800 x 600 are mentioned. Many other sites,
including that of the manufacturer, say the same. Does anyone know why this
might be? Is there some reason that could stop me using this monitor at
high resolutions? Also, if a monitor supports a high resolution, like
2048X1536, does it always every resolution below as well?

Normally, they will support lower resolutions of the same aspect ratio with no problems.
You'll also want to make sure your graphics card supports the desired resolutions for the new monitor.

Watch the refresh rate, at the max res it's 61Hz which may be okay for
you.
