media player classic suddenly wont resize/stretch anything

Using the current version. I played around with using different
renderers but nothing seems to help. If i stretch the window it just
pads the video with blackspace. Selecting "double size" gets me no
picture at all.

Radeon 9800, current drivers. Current DirectX.

Windows media player can do stretches and resizes just fine.
