i want to split a large movie file into several pieces to burn on a dvd
but every file splitting program i've used creates proprietary part files
which can only be reassembled by the program itself and will not run or
be recognized by the dvd player or movie software.

i need a program (preferably freeware/sharware) that will simply chop the
files into pieces and each piece able to be viewed independentally
ie..still an avi or an mpeg but a part of the original file and that can
burned as-is to a vcd or dvd.

can anyone suggest such a program?

thanks in advance

Creates a self uniting program within the file.
