Hi group
I have a cheapish laptop (Medion Microstar) with only 128Mb sdram and its slow despite its 2.4G processor. I'd like to upgrade the memory to see if it speeds up but am phased by taking the back off the machine and not being able to replace it. Anyone here have any experience of adding memory to a laptop ??? Else Elsie Tanner |

Usually there is a simple Flap/Access point to memory only in the base of
the laptop "Elsie Tanner" <> wrote in message news:d4d4ih$2jo$... > Hi group > I have a cheapish laptop (Medion Microstar) with only 128Mb sdram and its > slow despite its 2.4G processor. If you're lucky, there will be an empty slot to snap the the stick in place. If you're really lucky, you'll have a one screw door to open up to get to the ram. -- http://www.bootdisk.com/ Plato |

Make sure you add exactly the same kind and speed. Main issue is how many memory slots you have. Identify which is the memory compartment-- there's likely a small panel held down with a screw on the bottom of your computer-- and look in there. You'll probably have just two slots- each with a 64 meg module installed giving you your 128 total. Cheapest fix is to remove one and replace it with a bigger module-- probably adding one 256 or 512 module-- giving you that plus the 64 meg that you leave in there. If you're really feeling flush, replace both old 64 meg modules. Cleburne Patrick Cleburne |
