My Win98 was recently upgraded to Winxp. Everything is fine except
connection by cable to the internet always automatically stops after about
an hour or so. Reconnection can only be made by restarting the computer.
Can somebody please point out the reason and the way to fix it? Thank you.

Some network drivers allow Windows to switch them off to save power. Try
opening the properties dialog for the connection, and click the
"configure" button. Select the powersave tab if one exists, and uncheck
the "Allow computer to switch off this device ...".
