My daughter had an error with her Spybot-Search&Destroy, which was
fairly well documented in Google, and after she had uninstalled and
reinstalled it everything worked fine.

However, about a week later, she is finding that the updates specified
are a repetition of those which she has already updated, several times
over, with maybe just a minute or two between the requests for an
update.

Before I tell her to uninstall and reinstall yet again, is there any
advice which is applicable to this particular situation.

That last bit doesn't sound logical to me.

I've never seen the problem myself and I'm not sure if I can be of help
here, but I'd like to know what exactly was 'the fairly well documented
problem'.
