Motor is shot or you have something (a utensil,
broken piece of glass ect.) caught in the impeller. If DW has been setting unused for a long period of time the seals on the motor shaft have become stuck together. Check impeller area and free up it or the motor. The click is the overload safety shutting off power to the motor.
