New York Times review of Firefox

Today's _New York Times_ has an article (free registration required,
blah blah) about the progress of Firefox. It's mostly focused on the
Windows context, and talks about the differences between Firefox and IE,
as well as about some of the history of the "browser wars":

<http://www.nytimes.com/2004/12/19/business/yourmoney/19digi.html>

My favorite section from the article:

'Mr. Schare of Microsoft does have one suggestion for those who cannot
use the latest patches in Service Pack 2: buy a new personal computer.
By the same reasoning, the security problems created by a car's broken
door lock could be solved by buying an entirely new automobile. The
analogy comes straight from Mr. Schare. "It's like buying a car," he
said. "If you want to get the latest safety features, you have to buy
the latest model."

In this case, the very latest model is not a 2001 Internet Explorer, but
a 2004 Firefox.'

Here's a hint for getting around the registration. If you click on the
link above directly who will be taken to the NYT registration site. Instead
right click on the link and choose "copy shortcut." From there you can
paste it into google toolbar if you have it or paste it into the search bar
at google.com if you don't have the toolbar. You will get a message stating
"sorry no information is available for URL blah, blah. If the URL is valid
you can click on the click. Try it and you will be taken directly to the
article.

And you will have to do the same (copy the shortcut for page 2) in order to
finish the article.

Nice tip. Thanks
