When i copy and paste or cut and paste an mp3 album at around 70Mb, a box
comes on the screen giving time remaing, the time goes upto 1min or so. It
used to be instant.

What is causing this? Anything to do with Bios settings?

TIA

Defrag'ing your system's hard drives would be the first step.

Non system drives in windows - system drive (Windows partition) in
safe-mode.

Nothing to do with BIOS. You could start by cleaning
up your system -- see my signature.

Either a f*cked up harddrive (download and run the test tool from the manuf.
site according to your harddrive) or it's simply nearly full and
fragmented. You may as well have fiddled with your bios settings and made
things worse.
