"In the high-end videocard market, the Radeon X800 XL VPU offers great value. Perhaps that's why these cards are selling out everywhere. Today PCStats will be checking out this high-end value king in the form of the ATi Radeon X800 XL PCI Express videocard. Backed by 256MB of GDDR3 memory, a 512MB version is available also, but the extra memory does little in terms of real world performance. Like all other videocards currently on the market, the Radeon X800 XL supports S-Video/Composite TV-out as well as component output for HDTV owners."

I've already read several review on that Video Card. Its performace is awesome, and it is even cheaper than its Nvidia competitor.
Currently, the 512MB version, doesn't mean a lot, but I think that in about 6 month or a year, most games will require 512MB of memory in the Video Card.
I wish I had the money to buy one. Probably I'll to manage with my XFX 6600GT AGP (which is quite OK these days, I guess).

nice card from ati. HOwever, I think nvidia has all the news nowaday. ATI for some reason still produce good cards but I think the availabilty has really hurt it's name and hence it's sael.

ATI is good, they are a great competitor. But nVidia is just better due to the easy of coding games , they have a shadow mapper built in to all there FX's

yer, but what does that matter to game programmers, more nVidia card will be supported due to the tools which are possiboel to be used by the coders, i know SLi is reasonably easy to have , though u have to have a C++ or .Net / ASM program but still i am sure u could make a mod for VB to run SLi

The overall effect that comes from ati and nvidia can be expressed as a equation, though u won't like it
nVidia = ATi
ATi = nVidia
See i told you!!!
