My maching currently has
dvd rom, 16x max read
cd-rw, 48x max write

I have a new dvd-rw with
dvd 12x max read & cd-rw 24x max write

which do I replace?

Which ever one you dnt mind loosing.

Just make sure the jumber is set to he same one the drive your pulling out
as the one your putting in.

I'd keep the cdrw for disc copy, or drive failure.
