Default Cursor prob & Stinger

Hi
I had a problem where the mouse on my pc went wayward & all over the
place, out of control. My taskbar went up the side & all the taskbar popups
'popped up' & there was a constant ping sound & a croaking from the back of
the pc.
I don't know wether its mechanical or viral.

Has anyone had this prob & knows of a cure?

In the past i had a bleep & ran 'stinger' & that worked. Can anyone tell me
about stinger & when it's running, it doesn't show viruses it finds & why at
the end, it doesn't ask if you want them removed, or does it just do it as
it's going along!
Cheers
Gaz

Stinger is an emergency tool only; it only removes certain
well-known viruses, so I hope you are not relying on it
exclusively.

Anti-virus programs:
--------------------
KAV (Kaspersky)

Sophos

eZ Antivirus (Computer Associates)
http://www.my-etrust.com/products/Antivirus.cfm

eScan antivirus toolkit
Free scanner tool from Microworld Systems based
on the Kaspersky (KAV) scanning engine.
Extract the downloaded "mwav.exe" to
"C:\Downloads" with WinZIP or a similar archiver.
You MUST use this directory because this is where
the updater downloads new definitions to.
Once extracted, run "kavupd.exe" to update
the definitions. Run "mwavscan.com" to run
the scanner. Note that this ONLY an "on demand"
scanner, and offers NO resident protection, but
is an invaluable tool; there is NO better freeware
"scanner".

Hi & thanks
Up to now (touch wood) it seems to have removed my
problem with what i said! I don't run it as a regular anti virus programme,
as i have AVG, which didn't detect my prob, but i hear people say AVG is
crap! I don't know. Are there any other better virus detectors i can run
regularly & have on my desktop!?
Cheers Gaz
