Problems with the Windows Updates!

A few days ago, I erased some old programs off my hard drive and
since then, every time I turn on my computer, XP wants to download the
same Windows Update, specifically security update KB 835732. I
download it, the computer says it has been successfully updated, but
the next time I turn it on, it wants to do it again! The update icon
is now permenently on my system tray, but was never there befor. The
programs I erased were photo graphics software. I don't see any
connection to the Windows Updates. Any help will be greatly
appreciated.

Try applying the update manually:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sec.../ms04-011.mspx
