Does anyone know if you can obtain source codes from a complied program? If
so how?

There's such a thing as a disassembler. It attempts to convert binary
executables into assembler code. Of course if you cant read / write
assembler, its not worth the trouble.

All Open source or General Public License'd products have it as part
of the archive.

If the source code is made available, yes. If not, no.
Note: decompiled code is NOT source code.
