Before I contact Dell, I'll see if anyone here might help me. I just bought
a new Dell Dimension PC with a 48xDVD/CDRW Combo Drive & Sonic Software for
CD/RW and Combo.

The drive plays audio CD's, but somehow nothing happens when I insert a DVD.
Have tried both region 1 & 2.
Any ideas ?

Being as this is a new Dell I would expect it to have Cyberlink's Power DVD
software installed. Look in your list of programs to be sure it is in fact
installed. If not then check your blue CD discs for the correct Cyberlink
disc. If you have it try installing the software which you have to have in
order to play DVD discs. Needless to say if it is not installed and you
don't have the DVD software on disc then call Dell right away and complain.

You are right about it having installed Power DVD. I tried to uninsall it
and then re-installing it, but still unable to play a DVD.
In Power DVD the options Resume Movie, Restart and Title Menu are greyed
out.
