Thanks though. Haven't read all through the last link but if it's anything like Office 2000 Admin install the latter patches require access to the original CD. To get around this, I was fairly lucky my solution was to copy specific files from the original CD to a hardisk, select that path when asked then edit the registry to the same path. This way additional user logins found the files automatically. Try this, from the MS Technet June DVD "sku011" found in a search this article. With System Restore, you can set Restore Points besides the ones it
picks for you. Click on the left arrow above the calendar and pick a date on the calendar a month or two back. Thanks for that info but no system restore had been set, I was new to xp pro
and was unaware that I needed to do this as in my previous o/s win 98 it always saved automatically. so I could restore but this one does not seem to and there was no previous dates to restore to and I did try to click on the left arrow etc but nothing showed up. Thanks anyway "Reid Decker" <> wrote in message news:OimJc.140$... > With System Restore, you can set Restore Points besides the ones it > picks for you. Thanks > I found this buried in a forum, see if it helps. "I was receiving the sku011.cab error also. Well after failing to repair and reinstall office, I check my application log and here is what I saw; Detection of product '{90110409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9}', feature 'OUTLOOKNonBootFiles', component '{4EAD0498-4F35-4FF3-A6A6-3AE68392BA5E}' failed. The resource 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\1033\PROTTPLN.DOC' does not exist. So I went into the 1033 directory and it was missing. There was another file there named PROTTPLV.DOC. I copied it to my desktop and named it PROTTPLN.DOC and that resolved my problem. " A lot of reference to "sku011.cab" here: http://www.dylangreene.com/blog.asp?blogID=371 |
