I had to format my drive and re-install windows,
everything works great now but a strange thing happened,
my Notepad doesn't work anymore, this is the message I get when I try
to open it in Notepad
(C\Documents and Settings\???????\Desktop\New Document.txt is not a
valid Win32 application.)
but it opens if I go to C\Windows\Notepad and hit File\Open & find the
..txt I want to open but if I go to Start\Programs\Accessories the
Notepad looks like the program was un-installed for some reason,
I an using Win-XP,

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you all.

Joseph

Check file association in control panel ---folders---file types--scroll down
to .txt then highlight.

Delete the shortcut for Notepad in Accessories,
and create new one. In the 'Target' box, type:

%SystemRoot%\system32\notepad.exe

Right click on the Accessories folder and choose 'Open' or
'Explore'. Right click inside the folder and choose 'New /
Shortcut'. Paste in %SystemRoot%\system32\notepad.exe
and press 'Next'; follow the wizard.
