Default Folder Options

How can I get folders like Control Panel to open up with the icons
everytime, instead of a list of what's in the folder. Same thing with
folders of mp3 files I have on my desktop. Whenever I open them, I get
a list of all files, with file size, dates and times, etc. All I want
is the list of the song titles. I manually change it every time I open
it, but the next time, it's back the way I don't want it. Thanks.

Try this, but I don't know if it will work in your case.

Open the window, and set it up how you want. When you close it, hold down
the "Left Shift" key, and at the same time, click on the "X" with your mouse
to close the window. Now open it again, and see if it keeps the settings.
This works for many instances to keep windows settings.

open control panel>>there should be a view icon in the tool bar>>..select
the view that you want... this should then be remembered next time you open
that folder

tools, options, folder view, check mark next to "remember each folders
view settings".

Uncheck the "remember each folder's view" under the view tab of folder
options. Otherwise, it will revert back. Once you have the view you want,
uncheck the box, and click button to "apply to all folders". Should do the
trick.
