Its an attempt to get around Bayesian spam filters.
These filters work by rating words according to there spamminess, and then
deciding on how likely it is for a whole mail to be spam. The filter is
trained - the user tells it what mails are spam and what are genuine and
it uses this to keep its own spam ratings for words it has encountered.
The spammers are now sticking in unusual words to try to fool the spam
filter, hoping that they can decrease how spammy the filter decides the
spam is. Its not very effective with a well trained filter, and it makes
the spammers write utter gibberish.
