Don't know about XP updates, however it looks okay for Win 2000 Pro.

I followed the instructions on your link. Mine was already set to
Automatic, and I still can't get it to download. Absolutely nothing
happens when I click the "Install Now" button.

Do you have your security settings set too high?
Set them to default and clean out your cache.

can't be that; I never touch them. this is the only time I have had
trouble getting an update. Cache is cleaned constantly.
