I drive like an old lady on diazepam ... I think you drive like a Londoner on

On December 21 last year I left The Pittodrie House Hotel, just north of
Aberdeen (Chapel Garioch) at 11:30AM and was home, in Ross on Wye,
before 8:00PM. That included one stop at what my brother describes as
the worst service station in the UK. We travelled all the way at 75MPH
or under because my brother's car (that I was following) had a problem
with the wheel bearings. I may have touched 130 on the M50, but then
that's not a real motorway, is it? There was also heavy snow between
Aberdeen and Edinburgh-ish.

We were lucky with the traffic - no jams apart for a 5 minute jam south
of Aberdeen due to a crash. Manchester and Brum were easy. My satnav
shows the distance to be 497.1 miles. Easy.

So that's what hit my windscreen! Made a right mess, too.

As I said a good result. In my experience I'd say an exception rather than a
rule but then how long is a long thing?

As for accessing your popmail account, check with the ISP of your
personal email. They mau have a web interface you can access,
provided your employer doesn't feel it will interfere with your work
schedule.

As for the file sharing schemes, your employer has every right to
block this from entering their network. The already have a commercial
exposure and allowing this is an invitation to disaster.

Maybe that deal you mentioned in a later point in this thread is worth
revisiting.

Live in Kent and work in Midlands. use whatever to get to M25 - park
up on M25 for 3 to 4 hours and then transfer to M1 and walk beside car
to get some exercise.

9 hours in the UK - Oh yes! Very easily.

Serious answer to question (I hope).

Would it not be a lot easier to put an 'out of home' notice on your
e-mail and have it automatically forwarded to your office. My lot are
just as fussy but I am sure I could get away with that!

I suppose being greatful you have a job that allows you to **** around
on the internet for non-work related reasons is not enough for you....
Why not take a branding iron and shove it up your boss's ass, then
maybe he'll get the balls to fire you like he should have done before
he even got the notion to hire such a lazy bum!

Who kicked your pram Red Eagle.
Grateful and job I'm afraid should never be combined in a sentence.

Now I think maybe you are one of those IT nazi's and maybe I've touched a
nerve.
