Is it possible to set up IE/Firebird/OE and other Internet-accessing
programs in Windows XP so that they have reduced security
privileges, to get closer to the security levels on other OSes?

I know there is a "Run as" option and a "Protect my computer
from unauthorized program activity" option -- but how secure is this
at the moment? Is it used in anger much? Do you need to create a
new user? Is that really effective given IE's "software architecture"
(sic)?

Perhaps there are tweaks and registry settings to make it work well?
