I am trying to set up a new identity in email, I go through all the steps
and get to 'the new account' . I am able to send a message from the new
account to my original identity, but the new identity will not accept reply
mail back . I have tried this multiple times and continue to get the
following error message:

There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was
rejected. Account: 'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'mail.comcast.net', Protocol:
POP3, Server Response: '-ERR box locked', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server
Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92

please can someone tell me how to fix this?

thank you so much!

FWIW. I think you'd better have a word with your ISP about this.

Ok, is your e-mail address for this new identity valid? In that I mean
its a real e-mail address for comcast?
Under account name it should be the username for the account, not the
name of the mail server so this is part of your problem from what you
describe.
You can't just create new e-mail accounts for comcast without contacting
them and getting an username and password to go with whatever the new e-
mail addy is.

Does this help?

While you're *in* the new identity; check the corresponding mail
account (Tools; Accounts; Mail tab). Make sure that it's the default
account for that identity.
