We just got new computers here at work. Running Windows 2000 Service Pack 4.
The moboard is a D865PERL. It has the serial ATA cable for the hard drive.
My question is this. It came with a CD from Intel with the inf chipset
setup. And the Sound Max drivers and the ethernet driver. It also came with
the option to install the native storage patch for MS XP and 2000. But the
autoinstaller seems to think it doesn't need to install this (it will self
check what it determines it needs to install). So my question is this. Does
Win2k SP 4 have this patch already built into it? It's like looking for a
needle in a hay stack
on Microsofts website regarding patches included in SP4. I've posted this
question in a W2k group
and the Intel group. But have had no response.

Yes there's a good chance that it's been included in the DRIVER.CAB or SP4.CAB
you can find these here: H:\WINNT\Driver Cache\I386
double clicking on them (WinZIp), will allow you to view the contents - and
extract them to read or view.
